Graphic Design Micro-Credential

Great design isn’t just about making things look good, it’s about making ideas clear, memorable, and persuasive. Whether you’re building a brand, crafting a presentation, or telling a story, strong visual communication can make your message stand out.

The Micro-Credential in Graphic Design helps you do exactly that. Across three hands-on courses, you’ll learn how to think like a designer… balancing color, type, and composition to create visuals that connect with people. You’ll move from concept to creation, using industry tools to design digital and print materials that tell a story and spark engagement.

This fully online credential fits easily alongside any major and can even stack toward a BA or BFA in Graphic Design. More than a creative skillset, it’s a way to elevate how you share your ideas…helping you communicate with confidence in business, education, communications, or wherever your path leads.

To design like a professional, you need the tools professionals use. At Missouri Valley College, we’ve removed course fees for Graphic Design classes and use textbooks only when absolutely necessary…lowering costs so you can invest in what truly matters: your creative toolkit. Students should have access to a device capable of running Adobe Creative Cloud and an active subscription to the software suite. This approach ensures you’re not just completing assignments; you’re building the skills, experience, and tools you’ll carry into your creative career.

Assessment:
To complete this Microcredential, students submit a portfolio of 3–5 representative works at the end of their final required course. Faculty and/or subject matter experts review the portfolio to confirm mastery of the key skills and competencies.
