Missouri Valley College's accounting program equips students with the in-demand skills, technical expertise, and adaptability needed to thrive in a dynamic financial world and make meaningful contributions to their organizations and communities.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate foundational accounting proficiency by accurately recording, organizing, and interpreting financial information in accordance with basic accounting principles.
1. Identify and define the relationship between assets, liabilities, and owner’s equity.
2. Explain the principles of double-entry accounting and the rules of debits and credits.
3. Apply accounting techniques to categorize and report financial data accurately.
4. Analyze and complete the accounting cycle, including the preparation of financial statements.
5. Demonstrate proficiency in recording business transactions using journals and ledgers.
